ANGELES CITY—Despite the apparent loss of the 82-year-old Barangay Captain aspirant Sitong Villanueva, he still pursued his promise to renovate the city chapel.
One of the drafted projects of Villanueva during his candidacy last May 2018 was to build the partially-constructed San Pablo Chapel. He willingly promised that as soon as he sits as the Barangay Captain of Pulungbulu, he will push through the construction of the said chapel. But fortune and luck are not for him, as he was defeated by the incumbent Barangay Captain Bernardo Santos. Nevertheless, he still fulfilled his commitment to his people as he currently administers the construction of the chapel which started on November 25 and to be accomplished before the Simbang Gabi on December 15.
Villanueva said earnestly that despite his loss, he will nonetheless continue to voluntarily serve his fellow constituents because he is genuine to his words.
The elected president of San Pablo Pastoral Council, Lucia Kim, stated that Villanueva is unquestionably the generous man who will undertake whatever he promised. She even recalled the year when he also ran for Barangay Captain and was also defeated by Gloria Tanhueco. In view of the fact that he was defeated, he still accomplished his electoral promises. One of which was the construction of Mangga Health Center.
The Ex-Barangay aspirant mentioned that serving other people without counting the cost naturally makes his life longer.
Aside from the construction of San Pablo Chapel, he is also planning, along with the pastoral council, the renovation of San Vicente Chapel.
Sitong Villanueva is also the former Senior Citizen Chairman of Angeles City and the current president of San Vicente Chapel Pastoral Council.
